CHIRK PLAYGROUP MOVES INTO LOCAL SCHOOL

Chirk Pre-school Playgroup have moved into Ysgol Y Waun after 30 years at the local Parish Hall.
The playgroup have been awarded a grant from Wrexham Family Information Service for £7000 towards the cost of new equipment and classroom renovations.
Now in their own private classroom complete with a kitchen, bathroom and access to a secure school yard, they are now also registered to have 30 children instead of 26 in their previous premises.
The playgroup is run by Llinos Jones, who has been playgroup supervisor since January 2019.
She said “It was a big job every morning to set everything out like a classroom and put it all away. It’s a lot nicer, there were no windows in the parish hall for them to look out of so it’s much better for the children here.”
They will be situated in the school for 2 years while they have their own purpose-built
building built.

Chirk Pre-school playgroup is open Monday to Thursday 9am-11:30am for 2 ½ to 4 year olds. Each session costs £10 per child with an additional 50p for snack.
